Website and mobile application for Tour de France
Due to the slow response times from servers provider, there has been applied local cache layer, which allowed us to obtain an effect of lightness and high responsiveness of the user interface. We achieved it by the use of AJAX technology. For this purpose, the user interface has been separated from the data layer using the REST interface, it keeps simple description of the structure of the information used. Easy configuration and appropriate architecture allows to easily enrich the application with additional language options – provided in the way that the data provider supports the selected language. Currently, the application operates in three environments – French-speaking, Dutch and Belgian.
The service is part of hln.be – Het Laatste Nieuws – numbering in the Flemish liberal newspaper which fills its columns mainly treating the materials on current events, local issues and sport. Editor of the De Persgroep, owner of Progressive De Morgen.
Tour de France is not the only web and mobile application we delivered in relation to upcoming sports events this year. We are already developing for the same Client web and mobile apps for the Olympic Games in London 2012 which are about to start.
